This week, Forsgate Country Club's Frank Esposito, a member of its Teaching Professional staff, is playing in final field of the qualifying tournament for a chance to play on the PGA TOUR Champions Tour in 2019.  Esposito  successfully advanced to the Final Stage, which is being held this week at the TPC Tampa Bay, when he finished 8th among 82 golfers at the Florida qualifier in Lakeland.  Esposito is one of only 78 competitors to reach the Final Stage. After the first round, Esposito is currently in 5th place.

“This is a significant achievement for Frank as hundreds of the world’s best senior golfers and former PGA TOUR players battled to earn a berth in the prestigious Final Stage of the PGA TOUR Champions Qualifying Tournament,” said Chris Schiavone, Forsgate’s Managing Partner.  “Everyone at the club wishes Frank well in his quest to qualify as an exempt member of the 2019 Champions Tour.  We are proud to support such an accomplished member of our staff.”

Esposito, 55, is considered by many as New Jersey’s best senior golfer.  He is a five-time NJPGA Player of the Year, a two-time NJ Open champion and is a member of the New Jersey PGA Hall of Fame.  Recently, he won the 2018 New Jersey PGA/New Jersey State Golf Association Senior Open, which he also captured in 2017 and 2014.  Esposito has played in several PGA TOUR Champions Tour tournaments, competed in the U.S. Open and in two PGA Championships.  In 2014, he won the prestigious Senior PGA Professional National Championship.
