Online volunteer registration is now open for the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open Championship, to be held at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., July 10–16. The championship, the world’s most prestigious event in women’s golf, is conducted by the United States Golf Association.

Approximately 2,500 volunteers are needed to fill positions on more than 20 committees, including marshals, transportation, leaderboards and merchandise. Early application allows volunteers to specify their committee preference. Interested volunteers should visit www.2017uswomensopen.com. A full description of committee responsibilities is provided on the website to assist volunteers in determining their preferences.

All volunteers are required to purchase the volunteer package for $135 (a $250 value), which includes two championship golf shirts, one championship windbreaker, one championship ball cap or visor, one water bottle and one volunteer credential valid for all seven days of the championship, as well as complimentary...

Defending champion Anna Nordqvist has committed to play in the 2016 ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer and will be joined in the field by past winners Stacy Lewis, Karrie Webb, Cristie Kerr, Juli Inkster, Se Ri Pak, Angela Stanford and Ai Miyazato, tournament organizers announced.

“We’re proud that our list of champions includes many of the great players in the history of the LPGA,” said Tim Erensen, executive director of the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer. “We look forward to tournament week and the crowning of our next champion at Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club.”

Tournament organizers also announced that Candy Hannemann and Elizabeth Wang will compete on sponsor exemptions. Hannemann is a Brazilian native attempting to represent her country this summer when golf returns to the Olympics. Wang, a high school sophomore from San Marino, Calif., is ranked No. 11 nationally on the American Junior Golf Association Rankings and earned her spot in the field by winning the 2015 Junior PGA Championship.

The field includes a number of other notable players including South Jersey fan favorites like Natalie Gulbis, Christina Kim and Suzanne Pettersen, and young standouts like Canadian sensation Brooke Henderson.

The ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer will be held Monday, May 30 through Sunday, June 5. The 144-player field will compete over three rounds for a $1.5 million purse at Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club in Galloway, New Jersey. The tournament will be televised live on Golf Channel.        At a time when many country clubs have needed to change their strategic plans, the owners of Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster have taken their directive in a bold new direction.

         A little history about the club, the 530-acre property on the banks of the winding Lamington River was once an estate owned by the wealth investment banker, Frederick Strong Moseley and his wife Jane.  In 1964, Raymond J. Donovan and his business associate, Ronald A. Schiavone purchased the property and developed it into a corporate country club.

        Within a year, the club was ready to open its first 27 holes designed by renowned architect Hal Purdy, and named each nine holes the Red, Blue and Green Courses.  In 1986, an additional 9-hole Silver Course opened, and the course which was originally named the Green Course was renamed the Gold Course in honor of the “regal designs” by Brian Silva and his partner Geoffrey Cornish. The NFL Alumni Association (NFLA), along with NFL great and ESPN Analyst Ron Jaworski, today announced that the Ron Jaworski Celebrity Golf Challenge will be held at Atlantic City's Harrah's Resort and Blue Heron Pines Golf Club June 12-13, 2016. This year’s event will mark the 32nd year that Ron "Jaws" Jaworski will host the tournament with the help of his celebrity friends, and generous sponsors. 

"Last year was the first time that NFL Alumni worked with Jaws on his tournament and I was so proud to help put on such a first-class event," said Joe Pisarcik, President and CEO of the NFL Alumni Association. "We look forward to building off that success and increasing the support we give to the retired football player community and children’s charities around the country."

Five-time New Jersey PGA (NJPGA) Player of the Year Frank Esposito, Jr., has joined the renowned Forsgate Country Club in Monroe and the century old Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains as a PGA teaching professional. Forsgate and Shackamaxon are owned and operated by affiliates of RDC Golf Group, a Garden State golf course ownership and management company.

A full-time member of the Champions Tour in 2015, Esposito received a sponsor exemption into the 2016 Senior PGA Championship that will take place May 26-29, at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

“As a player and a PGA member, it is always a goal to compete at the highest level,” said Esposito. “I am looking forward to representing the PGA of America in this year’s Senior PGA Championship.”
