     There is more to mere beauty at Hidden Creek Golf Club. More, as in sharp teeth. More, as in difficulty, opportunity and challenge.

     The Coore-Crenshaw Design annually earns a berth in Golfweek Magazine's Top-100 Modern Courses for a good reason - it is that good of a golf course and a special experience.

     This is not a course tricked up for difficulty. It's a course that is designed to give a player multiple options and tournament officials with the same to protect par. Qualifiers to the United States Golf Association's 61st annual Senior Amateur will be bedazzled by the course.

     The event, for amateurs ages 55 and above with handicaps of 7.4 or less, was captured in 2008 by the Delaware Valley's own and FOX Sports George "Buddy" Marucci, who is exempt from qualifying and will participate in the championship which opens with two rounds of stroke play qualifying on September 26th with the low 64 plays competing in match play until the October 1...

Tara Fleming of New Jersey National will once again serve as captain of the defending champion New Jersey squad that won the USGA Women’s State Team Championship in 2013 at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio.

This year’s Women’s State Team Championship takes place Sept. 10-12 at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Giradeau, MO.

Fleming will captain a squad that includes this year's additions to the New Jersey State Team in veteran Basking Ridge resident Adrienne MacLean of Somerset Hills and high schooler Ami Gianchandani of Rock Spring, a Short Hills resident, winner of the NJSGA Junior Girls' Championship.

When New Jersey - sponsored by the NJSGA -  won its first State Team Championship, high schoolers Alice Chen of Montgomery and Cindy Ha of Demarest combined with Fleming, a resident of Jersey City. Both Chen, at Furman University, and Ha, at Vanderbilt University, are enjoying outstanding collegiate careers. College players are ineligible to compete in the State Team Championship.

       Recently, there were several annuoncements regarding future tournaments in the New Jersey/New York area.

       The Barclays has decided to add a new venue, Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury on Long Island will host The Barclays in 2017. Additionally, The Barclays also announced the course rotation through 2022, which includes some of the best courses in the greater NJ/NY area. The rotation includes:

2016 Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, Long Island (NY)

2017 Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury (NY)

2018 The Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, NJ

2019 Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, NJ (Liberty National will also host the 2017 President's Cup)

2020 Plainfield Country Club in Edison, NJ

2021 Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, Long Island (NY)

2022 Liberty National Golf Club, Jersey City, NJ

Finally, the PGA of America also announced the Trump National -Bedminister will host the 2022 PGA Championship.
