      When The Barclays returned to historic Ridgewood Country Club for the first leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs in August, not only did fans see some great golf played, but there were also many enhancements to the fan experience.

     "It's all about partnerships, and Barclays really gets it," said the tournament's Executive Director Peter Mele at the media day for the 2014 event. "Barclays wants to interact with the community, the fans, sponsors, and the media. They are probably the best sponsor on the PGA Tour."

        The 125-man field played some exciting golf, with Hunter Mahan besting the field on Sunday to take the event. New Jersey native, Morgan Hoffmann, played a great tournament, ending up in 9th place and dramatically moving up the FedEx points standings.

         Also added this year were two concerts by Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and on Saturday evening by the Irish Rovers.

       As always, The Barclays did a terrific job at supporting our military...

Forsgate Country Club in Monroe, New Jersey, is the place to be on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, as the club hosts the Forsgate Foundation’s Chip in for Charity Presented by Northeast Lock fundraising and entertainment event to benefit Ryan’s Quest. Forsgate’s Touring Ambassador and Ryder Cup legend Colin Montgomerie will make a special appearance at the club during the festivities.

The day begins with 18-hole golf outings on Forsgate’s legendary Banks Course and on its classic Palmer Course. Then the action heats up in the afternoon as Montgomerie, the 2014 Senior PGA Champion and 2014 Senior U.S. Open Champion, competes in a four-hole skins game against area club champions. The special day culminates with an evening barbecue, silent auction, and concert by well-known New Jersey party band The Nerds.

The New Jersey State Golf Association has been selected to conduct the first-ever qualifying for the newest USGA Championship, the 2015 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship, to be held at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif., May 2-6, 2015.

The NJSGA will administer qualifying next month, on Wednesday, August 13, at the Hackensack Golf Club in Oradell, N.J. Hackensack was the site for the 2013 State Open Championship.

Conducted over 18 holes, sectional qualifying will be held at 51 sites, including Hackensack, across the United States from Aug. 13, 2014, to March 31, 2015. The qualifying from more than half the sites takes place throughout the country in 2014, from August  13 through December 8, with more qualifiers taking place from February  13 through March 31 on the West Coast and in the South..
